The Bears dominate the Lions Sunday on the lakefront

The Chicago Bears defeated the Detroit Lions at home by a score of 28-13.  The game was never in doubt for the Bears.  It’s Matt Eberflus’ first 2 game winning streak of his head coaching career.

So NOW WHAT?!?!    Justin Fields once again held the ball too long.  He has terrible pocket presence.  He runs far too often.  But dadgummit he led the Bears to another victory over a Lions team that people believe has Super Bowl aspirations.

One thing is again made clear, Matt Eberflus is a hell of a defensive coordinator.  I still don’t think he’s much of a head coach and therein lies the rub folks.  He is going to somehow, some way coach himself into keeping his job and I can’t help but think that will be a terrible decision.

Justin Fields is baffling.  Just when you don’t want him anymore, he wins.  He is tough AF but makes me want to whip my remote at the damn TV.  Twelve rushes for 58 yards from your would-be franchise QB just ain’t right by me.  I have to keep telling myself, they won.  But is it too much to ask our QB to look like a bonafide gunslinger??  Brightside- DJ Moore is a stud. A great move by Ryan Poles. He delivers time and time again and quite frankly is the reason the offense looks serviceable.

We should be grateful for the W but what fun is that?  Roschon Johnson only gets 1 carry.  Makes no sense.  Maybe Luke Getsy saw something in the Lions’ defense he could exploit with QB runs.  Maybe he’s a horse-bleep OC who, like Eberflus, is just trying to eek out any win they can.  I hope Ryan Poles is getting enough info to make an educated decision on this team’s future.  Get rid of Justin? Get rid of Eberflus and Getsy?  Get rid of everyone??  On an evening when I should be celebrating, I can’t help but wonder what the future still holds.  This season started so poorly and now that the team is humming along and playing well, the jag bag in me wants the tank.  I want the stars, the moon, the top.  I DO NOT SEE THIS TEAM GETTING THERE WITH THIS COMBO OF COACHES AND QB.  It’s almost impossible to think they can get there as currently constructed.

More on this team later this week.

Peace out.
