Bears fall flat on their faces again

The Chicago Bears fall flat on their faces again, surrendering over 375 yards of total offense to the Cleveland Browns. Once again squandering a fourth-quarter lead. It’s the third time this season that the Bear’s defense has failed to secure a double-digit 4th quarter lead. The blame for this falls solely on the shoulders of head coach Matt Eberflus. Despite winning the penalty battle and causing three turnovers, the Bears still failed to lock up their sixth victory of the season. The Bears held the Cleveland Browns to under 30 yards rushing. If you watched the game you would think the Bears defense was the far superior squad on the field. But then you look at the stat sheet and 75-year-old Joe Flacco was slinging the ball around like he was a rookie out of Delaware. He threw for 370 plus yards and made David Njoku look like the 2nd coming of Shannon Sharpe.

It’s the same old same old for this Bears team. We said it before and we’ll say it again the Chicago Bears are not the worst team in the NFL. But they are not a playoff team. To see us on the in-the-hunt graphic on some of these talk shows is laughable. Anyone who watches this team knows that we would never make any noise in the playoffs as currently constructed. Matt Eberflus while a fantastic defensive coordinator is horseshit at managing a football game. So many opportunities are squandered that could have led to victories this year. Three blown 4th quarter double-digit leads are a fireable offense. Again the players play, but when the coaches make decisions to not put their players in the best situation to win a football game, all job security goes out the window. There’s no reason that Matt Eberflus should even be considered to be the head coach next football season.

Ryan Poles once again is proving game after game that he knows how to build a roster. But it seems he’s given the reins to an inept driver. Montez Sweat looks like the steal of the century. So far. DJ Moore is a fine addition to any ball club but especially this one with a young quarterback who needs someone who catches it when you throw it to him. You can rag on Luke Getsy all you want but there were at least three play calls that he made where the ball was put right where it was supposed to be and the individuals trying to make the catch failed to do so. Ole Bobby Tonyan, you’ll always be a Packer, get lost! Tyler Scott you’re supposed to be making up for one of the worst draft picks in Bears history, Velus Jones Jr., but you need to hold on to the ball as well. I feel bad for Darnell Mooney. He never sees the ball but dude, when it’s in your hands, please catch it. Thanks, from everyone in Chicago.

It is 2023 and our quarterback threw for 166 yards. Our top rusher had 36 yards rushing. It’s 2023! When will this team step into the 21st century and show flashes of offensive ingenuity? It is extremely frustrating as a fan, when we have a decent defense and our offense just isn’t up to snuff. Oh, a day in the life of a lifelong Chicago Bears fan!!! Help help.

Peace out.
