Bulls come back from 12 down to defeat Spurs

The Chicago Bulls came back from 12 points down to defeat the San Antonio Spurs for their 4th win in a row. Rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama did his part scoring 21 points and hauling in 20 rebounds. But the Bulls did what they were supposed to do, defeating a lesser opponent on the road. It’s only the Bulls’ second road win of the year, but further confirms the fact this team does not need Zach LaVine. Trading him ASAP would help the long-term future with a draft pick haul. Also, in the short term by letting Coby White and Patrick Williams get valuable minutes.

The Bulls were paced once again by Nikola Vucevic and DeMar DeRozan. Both veterans scored 20 or more points. DeRozan led the game with 10 assists while Vucevic held his own against mega-stud Wemby with 10 boards. Watching Vuc throw the post moves on Wemby early in the contest was kinda sweet.  Watching Wemby get to the rim any which way he wants makes NBA fans everywhere wish the ping pong balls fell their way.

It was another game without “injured” star Zach LaVine and not coincidentally, their 4th straight win. The Bulls play better without him. That much is clear. But to see the ball move to the open man and the defense make proper switches and shifts is refreshing.

Hopefully, the front office of Artūras Karnišovas and Marc Eversley see what Bulls fans see and make the proper moves to get this team back to respectability ASAP.
