The Chicago Bulls have won 3 straight games without star guard Zach LaVine. Coby White scores 19 points with 9 boards. Nikola Vucevic looks like the player the Bulls traded away a ransom for. Caruso still busts his ass morning, noon and night. This is all going down while the “best player on the team” is sitting/pretend hurt as he gets shopped to a contender. Or a pretender. Or a middle school team. It doesn’t matter. Just please get rid of Zach LaVine. This Bulls team just runs more smoothly(smoother IDK) when LaVine isn’t firing up any and every shot known to man. It’s sad as a basketball fan, to watch and know the second he touches the ball that he is shooting. Come hell or high water(or a triple team) that bitch is going up. Now don’t get me wrong, he can score. He is smooth as hell and can fill it up. But a complete basketball player he is not. I know there aren’t that many out there. I know the league is this whole “your turn/my turn” style where stars have to get theirs. If they don’t, they bitch and diva out. But to see your team thrive, albeit against a couple of trash-ass teams, feels good when they do without the guy you can’t stand to watch touch the ball.
Let me be clear, I think Zach LaVine is a heck of a basketball player. When he is hot, there is no hotter scorer in the league. But none of his offensive achievements have resulted in wins. This may come off as an insult, and it should, but dude is an elite-level Rec leaguer. That’s a slap in his face, I know, but he plays zero defensive and an assist is more like an accident to him. He’s throwing you the ball so he can get it back after he shakes his defender. Lord knows that bad boy is getting chucked up as soon as he gets it back. This is why I think the Bulls are way better off letting Coby White run the show. First and foremost is the fact that he isn’t allergic to passing the ball. Second, he makes an effort on the defensive end. I know it’s a hard FN ask for your $200M “star” to play hard on both ends, but I’m to the point where I’d rather see what we got with Coby. Trade Lavine ASAP for any 1st rounder you can get and move on. Bulls fans deserve better.
